Calvasina 2000

Calvasina produces and sells 5mm thick sheet of granite and quartzite. The process, resulting from a long experience in the cutting of stone blocks, has been developed by our technical staff and is applied by our skilled work-force.

Traditional saws are used to cut 5mm sheets directly from the block. These are then reinforced and backed by a carbon fiber sheet making polishing and subsequent distribution possible.

The sheets cut to the maximum dimension of the block from which the have been sawn are made available to our customers and can be finished and cut according to different needs of traditional use, such as flooring, interior and exterior wall covering, table tops and shelves.

With this new innovative product Calvasina hopes to continue in the tradition of a company at the service of marble workers, producing easily transportable sheets, weighting only 13k per square meter.

Such reduced weight means that granite can be used in ways that were previously impossible and reserved for ceramics, glass, wood, steel and plastic laminates. With a little imagination, anyone working in the sector can have an idea of the advantages of this product.

As this is an innovative process, there is always room for improvement and Calvasina is going on with the research to improve still further the quality offered on the market.

Two patent applications have been made to the Italian Patents Office, one for the sawing process and the other for the finished product.

SikaWrap 160c
Carbon fibber wrap for structural reinforcement

Description- SikaWrap 160c is a carbon fibber wrap to be impregnated in site with a special epoxy resin from the Sika range, to make up a coat contributing to structural reinforcement.

Area of application- SikaWrap 160c especially proves suitable for making:
* Shear strengthening of concrete, wooden, beams and etc.
* Hopping of concrete, brick, steel, pillar with either circular or rectangular cross section, etc.
* Continuous structural reinforcement of items with no planar surfaces.

Carbon Fiber Sheet

It's more elastic and weight-resistant, right for applications detached from a support or for applications subject to vibrations.

Glass Fiber Sheet

It's more rigid. It's right for applications directly on walls or on floors. It's compatible with resin for normal gluing.
